Software Engineering Manager

JiBe is a cloud-based, fully integrated ERP system designed specifically for the shipping industry. Our mission is to help shipping companies enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety while reducing operational costs. By enabling increased automation and streamlining processes through predefined workflows, JiBe ERP minimizes reliance on email and paper, delivering a modern and efficient solution for the industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor a team of six members, addressing both their personal and professional development needs. Collaborate with other tech leads and architects to drive design efforts related to the solution.
- Recruit and build a self-organizing, agile team. Implement career development plans and foster growth in both technical skills and soft skills among team members.
- Oversee the entire development lifecycle and daily operations of the team. Take full ownership of the team’s products, ensuring high quality, smooth production environments, and meeting operational requirements.
- Continuously improve team methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Allocate approximately 50% of your time to managing and growing the team, and the remaining 50% to hands-on coding and conducting code reviews.
- Collaborate closely with engineering managers, product teams, support, and other stakeholders to maintain, evolve, and operate your product effectively.
- Ensure adherence to the organization’s development, quality, and delivery standards within your team.

Required Qualifications

- At least 7 years of experience in software development.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on development and code-level design experience using Node.js, Java, or C#.
- At least 2 years of experience working with relational databases.
- Proven track record of managing teams for a minimum of 3 consecutive years, leading teams of at least 5 members.
- Practical knowledge of development quality methodologies and testing practices.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, along with strong planning, time management, and organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated capability to prioritize, plan, and drive execution plans effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, independent, mature, and self-driven, with the ability to work well with minimal supervision in a diverse team environment.
- Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
- Willingness to gradually expand skillset to full-stack development while maintaining a focus on backend technologies.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with NoSQL databases for at least 2 years.
- Hands-on experience working with AWS and its various services.
- Comfortable operating within both Windows and Linux production environments.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and practices.
- Practical experience in areas such as performance analysis and optimization, application security, data streaming, or other cloud platforms.
- Experience collaborating with international technical managers and cross-functional teams.
