Software Engineerng Lead

We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineering Lead based onsite in Islamabad to join our dynamic team. This full-time role requires a professional with over 10 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership position. The ideal candidate will have a strong British accent and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with UK-based stakeholders. You will be responsible for leading a talented team of developers, driving the architecture, design, and delivery of scalable, secure web applications while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Ownership: Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in designing and building modern web applications using advanced frontend and backend technologies. Define and enforce coding standards, development processes, and best practices. Take full ownership of features from concept through to deployment, ensuring alignment with functional and commercial requirements.

Hands-On Development: Actively contribute to coding, core architecture, and critical feature development. Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high standards of performance, security, and scalability. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges in both development and production environments.

Collaboration & Delivery: Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, and QA teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features. Provide mentorship to team members, encouraging professional growth and continuous learning. Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management.

Cloud & DevOps Champion: Utilize Microsoft Azure for application hosting, storage, APIs, serverless functions, and monitoring. Promote DevOps best practices including CI/CD automation, automated testing, and seamless cloud deployments.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience: Over 10 years of software development experience with a minimum of 2 years in a technical leadership or lead role.

Communication: Must possess a clear British accent and demonstrate exceptional verbal and written English communication skills for effective interaction with UK stakeholders.

Frontend Expertise: Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.js or Angular.

Backend Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in Object-Oriented Programming using Java, C# (.NET / ASP.NET Core), or Python (Django / FastAPI / Flask).

Cloud & DevOps: Practical experience with Microsoft Azure or equivalent cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), including platform services, Git, and automated CI/CD pipelines.

Architecture: Deep understanding of software architecture principles, microservices, and design patterns.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, as well as Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates, is highly desirable. Familiarity with identity and security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, and Azure AD, will be advantageous. Exposure to data engineering or machine learning pipelines and experience delivering software in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, medical devices, FDA design controls, QMS) are considered valuable additions.
