Software Quality Assurance Engineer - PMS (Healthcare)

Medcare MSO, a leading USA-based Healthcare IT organization in Pakistan with over 950 employees, is committed to implementing best practices and leveraging advanced technology to deliver exceptional results. We are currently seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of MedCare’s Practice Management System (PMS) software throughout all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This role involves reviewing requirements and design documents, preparing comprehensive test plans and cases, executing various testing types including functional, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing, and managing defect tracking until resolution.

Key Responsibilities
- Review software requirements and design documentation to develop effective test strategies.
- Prepare detailed test plans and test cases aligned with project goals.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing to validate software quality.
- Track and manage defects, ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with development teams.
- Apply strong domain knowledge in US healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) to enhance testing accuracy.
- Utilize approved AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to generate test scenarios, improve test coverage, analyze defects, and accelerate test automation.
- Validate all AI-generated outputs rigorously before incorporating them into the QA process.
- Communicate test results and defect status clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to align testing activities with development cycles.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on software testing experience specifically within US healthcare Practice Management Systems (PMS). Candidates without this specific experience will not be considered.
- Strong understanding of US healthcare revenue cycle management, including medical billing, insurance workflows, and claims processing.
- Proficiency in SQL for database validation and experience with API testing tools such as Postman or equivalent.
- Practical knowledge of AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT applied to software testing and quality assurance.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Solid grasp of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC processes.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for documenting tests, reporting bugs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Critical judgment to validate AI-generated test cases and results effectively.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing standards such as CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and electronic data interchange formats including EDI 837/835, ERA, and insurance eligibility transactions is preferred.
- Experience in developing or maintaining automated test scripts, especially using AI-assisted tools, will be an advantage.
