Accountant With UK Tax and Accounts Experience

SORTACC AND CO LTD is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with strong expertise in UK tax and accounts preparation. The ideal candidate possesses at least three years of experience managing various accounting responsibilities including preparation of Limited Company Accounts, Sole Trade and Partnership Accounts, VAT returns and Processing Payroll (RTI Submissions).

This role requires proficiency with key accounting software such as Sage and QuickBooks, alongside knowledge of Making Tax Digital (MTD) software.

The position demands accuracy, strong organisational skills, team player and the ability to work independently without team management responsibilities. The Accountant will also undertake ad hoc tasks such as Companies House filings mainly Confirmation Statements. This role provides an excellent opportunity to engage deeply with UK accounting regulations.

Necessary training will be provided to the candidate who is willing to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and timely accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies following FRS 102.
Preparation and filing of Personal Self Assessment Tax Returns.
Prepare and file Corporation tax returns ensuring full compliance with HMRC requirements.
Compile and submit VAT returns in compliance with UK tax regulations.
Process payroll and RTI Submissions
Utilise accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, and Making Tax Digital (MTD) tools effectively to support accounting tasks.
Carry out ad hoc accounting and Companies House filings as required.
Stay updated with UK tax legislation changes and implement necessary updates.
Ensure strict confidentiality and security of all financial information handled.
