Spec-driven development - 10x Engineer

This is an onsite position based in Islamabad; remote work is not available. Melior ITS develops AI-powered products used daily by over 110 European companies across telecom, construction, energy, and government sectors. We are ISO 27001/27701 certified, self-host on H100 GPUs, and focus on delivering real, production-ready solutions rather than concepts. We seek an engineer who actively integrates AI tooling such as Claude Code, BMAD, and Cursor into their core workflow—not just someone interested in AI. The ideal candidate can independently translate business problems into end-to-end production systems at a pace that outperforms traditional teams.

Experience with billing engines, payment integrations, or financial platform architecture is highly valued. Candidates who have successfully shipped products in both fast-paced startup environments and enterprise-grade settings will thrive here. Our development approach is disciplined and specification-driven, emphasizing structured AI-assisted delivery through the BMAD Method, Spec-Driven Development (SDD), and daily use of Claude Code for implementation, refactoring, and testing. We design AI agents for learning from operational data, automating decisions, and executing complex multi-step workflows. If your AI development style relies on simple prompt-based outputs without architectural rigor, this role may not be a fit. We leverage AI to accelerate development tenfold while maintaining high standards for architecture, testing, and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and deploy full-stack systems including backend services, frontend interfaces, APIs, and data flows.
- Own features from initial specifications through deployment, producing architecture documents, PRDs, BMAD deliverables, and technical plans.
- Adhere to a disciplined, specification-driven development process.
- Build AI-assisted workflows and intelligent agents that automate multi-step processes and respond to real-time data.
- Design and integrate billing, payment, and financial systems using processor-agnostic architectures.
- Collaborate closely with domain experts embedded within client operations.
- Make architecture decisions, select technologies, define deployment strategies, and drive continuous improvement based on client feedback.
- Ensure all solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and production-ready.

Required Qualifications
- 5 to 8 years of professional software engineering experience across both startup and enterprise environments.
- Strong full-stack development skills with .NET / ASP.NET Core (including design patterns and standards), ReactJS or AngularJS, and Node.js with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Ability to own and manage the complete technology stack when necessary.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and services.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and/or MongoDB, including data modeling, database design, and query optimization.
- Experience designing microservices, REST APIs, and web or mobile clients.
- Solid understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles.
- Practical experience with Docker and containerized deployment workflows.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and external platforms.
- Proven use of AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, BMAD, Cursor, or equivalent.
- Ability to apply AI tools in a disciplined, spec-driven manner while independently validating code quality, security, performance, and correctness.
- Strong ownership, problem-solving, communication, and technical decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Background in ERP, CMS, FinTech, billing and payments, payroll, or mass-payout systems.
- Experience with real-time systems using WebRTC, SignalR, WebSockets, or event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity working with European enterprise clients.
- Knowledge of Azure, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Proven ability to work directly with business and domain experts to translate operational requirements into scalable software.
