The Manager Legal role is designed to provide comprehensive legal support across the organization by assisting in the drafting and development of legislative, legal, and licensing frameworks. This position involves preparing working papers and presentations for meetings, engaging with regulatory bodies and government departments, and offering legal advice on day-to-day operations. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations. Additionally, the Manager Legal will represent the organization in meetings, negotiations, and legal proceedings, playing a key role in managing corporate legal matters and supporting the organization’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting agreements, legal opinions, memorandums, and other legal documents related to both internal and external organizational matters.
- Support the development of rules, regulations, manuals, and policies in alignment with the organization’s statute.
- Provide advice on legal requirements related to the Federal Government, Ministries, Divisions, and other regulatory authorities.
- Facilitate liaison with government entities on administrative, legislative matters, and organizational approvals.
- Advise on legal risks, exposures, and recommend strategies for their mitigation.
- Support the department in adjudicating matters before regulatory bodies.
- Ensure timely and efficient preparation and execution of legal documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
- Represent the organization in meetings, negotiations, and legal proceedings.
- Assist in managing corporate matters including drafting and negotiating contracts, procurement documents, memorandums of understanding, and letters of intent or support.
- Provide legal advice to internal departments on contracts and related legal issues.
- Conduct research on outstanding legal queries, policy considerations, case law, regulatory matters, procedural authority, board matters, and the overall legislative framework relevant to the organization.
- Lead and manage legal functions within the department, carrying managerial responsibilities.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Public Sector or Private Sector organizations, or within Corporate/Commercial law firms.
- Graduate or bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) with an LLB from a national or foreign university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
- Proficiency in English with excellent legal drafting skills.
- Strong multitasking and time management capabilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment as an Advocate of the High Court is preferred.
