IT Guiders, an engineer-led technology partner specializing in secure, scalable, and practical technology solutions for global clients, is seeking a detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer. This part-time, remote contract role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work closely with developers, cloud engineers, and senior technical teams to ensure applications are reliable, secure, and production-ready. Ideal candidates will have 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance within a collaborative, technically focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test plans covering manual, functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects, collaborating with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Test REST APIs and backend services, validating responses, authentication, data integrity, and error handling using tools such as Postman or similar platforms.
- Develop and maintain automated test cases using frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalents.
- Perform regression testing prior to software releases and support user acceptance testing (UAT), staging, and production validation.
- Integrate testing processes into CI/CD workflows and participate actively in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
- Work within Git-based development workflows to ensure seamless collaboration and version control.
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Proven experience in functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
- Ability to create clear, comprehensive test cases and detailed bug reports.
- Familiarity with testing and project management tools such as Postman and Jira.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing.
- Understanding of Git version control and CI/CD concepts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
