SQA Engineer

We are seeking a skilled SQA Engineer with over one year of experience to join our team on-site in Karachi, PECHS Block 2. The role requires proficiency in both manual and automated testing for web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing comprehensive test cases, identifying and documenting bugs, performing various types of testing including regression and functional, and developing as well as maintaining automated test scripts. This position operates on a 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM shift and demands close collaboration with developers and product managers to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform manual and automated testing of web and mobile applications to ensure functionality and quality.
- Create detailed test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test reports to guide and document testing efforts.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, usability, and exploratory testing.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate frameworks for web and/or mobile platforms.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs using issue-tracking tools.
- Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing to validate consistent performance across environments.
- Validate application functionality, UI/UX, performance, and overall product quality.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to reproduce and resolve issues efficiently.
- Participate in requirements analysis and provide QA feedback early in the development lifecycle.
- Execute regression test suites following new feature implementations, bug fixes, and releases.
- Analyze failed automation tests and troubleshoot test scripts to improve reliability.
- Maintain QA documentation and ensure adequate test coverage across projects.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, automation coverage, and testing standards.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with manual testing techniques.
- Practical experience in test automation for both web and mobile applications.
- Familiarity with testing websites/web applications and mobile applications.
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and various testing methodologies.
- Experience working with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman.
- Understanding of SQL and database testing concepts.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira or equivalents.
- Good grasp of regression, functional, integration, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills to clearly report bugs and collaborate with development teams.

Application Considerations

Candidates should be comfortable working the 12 PM to 10 PM shift and have experience automating tests for both Android/iOS and web applications. Familiarity with Selenium and Appium tools specifically for website and mobile app testing is highly desirable.
