We are seeking a Senior Associate – Content Acquisition & Production to lead content planning, acquisition, licensing, partnerships, and production across our digital platforms. This role involves building a commercially valuable content pipeline by fostering relationships with content creators, production houses, broadcasters, podcasters, studios, influencers, rights holders, and other industry partners. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in content production and external content partnerships, with the ability to independently manage projects from concept development through to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage content acquisition, licensing, and production plans that align with platform growth and audience engagement goals.
- Identify and source diverse content formats such as shows, podcasts, livestreams, short-form videos, original series, and event coverage.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with creators, production houses, broadcasters, studios, podcasters, influencers, and rights holders.
- Negotiate content partnerships, licensing agreements, syndication deals, revenue-sharing models, and content exchanges in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Evaluate content opportunities based on audience relevance, platform fit, quality, cost, engagement potential, and monetization possibilities.
- Partner with independent and established producers to acquire, license, distribute, or co-produce content.
- Develop original content concepts and translate them into production-ready formats, including budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
- Manage the entire production lifecycle from concept development, scripting, pre-production, shoots, post-production, approvals, to final delivery.
- Independently oversee shoots, productions, livestreams, podcasts, interviews, and studio or on-location recordings.
- Coordinate with production crews, presenters, guests, vendors, editors, designers, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all content has the necessary rights, permissions, releases, contracts, and documentation.
- Maintain a structured content pipeline and calendar covering productions, licensed content, releases, livestreams, and promotional assets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Growth, Product, Design, Social Media, Partnerships, and Commercial teams to maximize content reach and performance.
- Develop repeatable content formats and franchises that drive user acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization.
- Monitor content performance and leverage audience insights to refine programming, partnerships, and production strategies.
- Ensure all content complies with editorial, brand, technical, legal, and platform standards.
- Mentor junior team members and ensure timely, high-quality execution across projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Marketing, Mass Communication, Film, Communications, or a related field.
- 5–6 years of relevant experience in content production, digital media, broadcasting, OTT, content partnerships, or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of content production, acquisition, licensing, distribution, and digital media landscapes.
- Hands-on experience managing video productions, podcasts, livestreams, shows, interviews, and short-form content.
- Ability to independently plan and manage shoots, production teams, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of content rights, usage permissions, licensing structures, and partnership models.
- Working familiarity with cameras, lighting, sound, production equipment, editing workflows, and post-production processes.
- Strong editorial judgment and understanding of digital audience behavior.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple content projects and partnerships simultaneously.
- Willingness and ability to support or directly participate in content production as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within OTT, streaming, broadcast, digital media, or creator ecosystems.
- Existing relationships with content creators, production houses, studios, broadcasters, podcasters, or influencers.
- Background in content licensing, syndication, or commercial content partnerships.
- Proven experience developing original content formats or repeatable content franchises.
- Strong awareness of digital content trends and audience behavior.
