Sr. AWS DevOps Engineer- Kubernetes Expertise

We are seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer with strong Kubernetes expertise to join our team in Karachi. This role involves designing, building, and deploying complex cloud environments using advanced automation tools and modern technologies. You will play a key role in maintaining and evolving AWS cloud infrastructure, supporting monitoring and alerting systems, troubleshooting issues, and developing automation solutions to meet customer needs. The position operates on Central Time (US) from 8 am to 5 pm.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with DevOps engineers to architect and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure that is resilient, scalable, redundant, self-sustaining, and self-healing.
- Champion infrastructure as code and automation practices using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, CircleCI, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure including clusters, namespaces, and deployments.
- Engage directly with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates on new features, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Continuously improve operational practices and procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices within the operational infrastructure.
- Mentor and train junior DevOps engineers and new team members to build a strong, knowledgeable team.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in DevOps engineering.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Solid experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS or ECS, Rancher).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible, and container technologies including Docker and Docker Compose.
- Ability to script in languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, or JavaScript.
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in English.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision.

Technical Expertise
- Extensive hands-on experience architecting solutions within the AWS cloud environment.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and manage CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
- Deep understanding of core DevOps principles including continuous integration, continuous delivery, Agile methodologies, and automation.
- Expertise in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters in production settings.
- Skilled in containerization technologies, including creating Docker images, managing registries, and configuring runtime environments.
- Familiar with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
- Strong knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewall configurations.
- Experience designing secure infrastructure aligned with cloud-native security standards.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is highly desirable.
