TransUnion is looking for a Senior Java Full Stack Developer with over eight years of experience in designing and delivering scalable, enterprise-grade applications. This hybrid role is part of the TCSVIZ team, which manages four critical products: Certified Caller Insights, Robocall Mitigation Insights, TrustID Insights, and Intelligent Call Control portals. The position requires a combination of remote work and onsite presence at a TransUnion office at least two days per week. The successful candidate will take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle, from architectural design and technical specifications to coding, code reviews, and cloud deployment on AWS or GCP.
Key Responsibilities
Develop production-ready, high-quality code across the full stack, including Java/Spring Boot backend and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frontend frameworks. Deploy, optimize, and manage containerized services on cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP. Lead comprehensive peer code reviews, enforce best practices and secure coding standards, and ensure robust test coverage through unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Provide technical leadership by mentoring mid-level and junior engineers, resolving complex technical challenges, and driving agile delivery processes. Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to design and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines supporting build, test, and release cycles.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of eight years of full-lifecycle software engineering experience is essential. Strong backend expertise with Java (versions 11, 17, or 21), Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate/JPA, and experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs is required. Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js, along with TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3, is necessary. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms—either AWS (ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS/SNS) or GCP (GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL)—is critical. Solid knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle, and familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Redis is expected. A strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, event-driven design, and messaging queues like Kafka is required. Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, along with CI/CD tools like Harness, GitLab CI, or Jenkins, is essential. Demonstrated experience applying engineering best practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), clean architecture, SOLID principles, and system design is a must.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK is a plus. Certifications in AWS or GCP cloud platforms are advantageous. Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry is preferred. TransUnion fosters a positive and inclusive work environment that supports professional and personal growth. The company values work-life flexibility and provides resources to encourage collaboration and innovation. Joining TransUnion means working alongside talented professionals on pioneering products and cutting-edge technology, contributing to meaningful impact through the Workforce for Good initiative.
