Sr. DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the development, deployment, monitoring, scalability, security, and reliability of Edge’s cloud infrastructure and applications. This role involves close collaboration with software engineering, QA, IT, and product teams to design and maintain scalable cloud environments, optimize CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure processes, enhance system reliability, and resolve complex production issues. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly skilled in AWS and Infrastructure as Code, and comfortable owning production infrastructure while promoting DevOps best practices across teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, deploy, manage, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments, utilizing services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, Load Balancers, and Lambda.
- Develop highly available, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures.
- Manage infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Build, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for application build, testing, deployment, and release, working with platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins.
- Own deployment workflows to improve release speed, reliability, and rollback capabilities.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, monitoring, and operational workflows using scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure components.
- Manage containerized applications using Docker and optimize Kubernetes environments, preferably Amazon EKS.
- Define deployment strategies, resource configurations, health checks, scaling, and service discovery for container orchestration.
- Lead monitoring and observability efforts, implementing metrics, logging, alerting, dashboards, and health checks with tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis to improve system availability, performance, resilience, and recovery.
- Implement and maintain cloud security best practices, managing IAM roles, policies, permissions, secrets, and access controls while applying least-privilege principles.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, IT, security, and product teams, providing technical guidance and mentoring junior DevOps engineers.
- Lead DevOps initiatives from planning through production rollout and evaluate new tools to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS cloud infrastructure and managing production environments.
- Proficiency with Linux systems and command-line environments.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform or similar platforms.
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, ports, firewalls, VPCs, subnets, security groups, and load balancers.
- Strong knowledge of AWS IAM, access control, secrets management, and cloud security.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, troubleshooting, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to independently resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience implementing backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Skills in cloud cost optimization and infrastructure scaling.
- Relevant AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps Administrator.
- Experience working in startup or fast-paced engineering environments.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead DevOps or infrastructure initiatives.
