Sr. Network Engineer – IT Infrastructure Unit - IT Operations Dept. IT Group

The Bank of Khyber is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join its IT Infrastructure Unit within the IT Operations Department. This role is based in Islamabad, Peshawar, or Karachi and requires a professional with strong networking expertise to support and enhance the bank’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in network engineering, a relevant educational background, and the ability to work in a dynamic banking environment. Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain the bank’s network infrastructure to ensure high availability and security.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and optimize system efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT operations and infrastructure projects.
- Manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and other related hardware.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.
- Participate in network capacity planning and upgrades to accommodate business growth.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers and other IT staff.
- Maintain documentation related to network configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance network performance.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum education requirement is Graduation. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Banking, or a related field from an HEC-recognized university or a reputable foreign university is preferred.
- 4 to 7 years of professional experience in network engineering within a reputable organization.
- Proven expertise in managing complex network environments and infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security, and infrastructure components.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

- Certifications such as Fortinet NSE4 (or higher), Cisco CCNP, CCIE, or other relevant IT certifications will be highly regarded.
- Experience working in the banking or financial sector is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
