Sr. SQA Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer with 3 to 5+ years of experience to join our team on a full-time, onsite basis in Gujranwala. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by designing and executing comprehensive test strategies. This position requires a hands-on professional who is comfortable working closely with development and product teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software releases.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze software requirements, specifications, and technical documentation to develop effective test strategies.
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
- Perform various types of testing including functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using bug-tracking tools.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product teams to investigate and resolve software issues.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks where applicable.
- Conduct API testing and validate backend services and integrations.
- Perform database testing to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Participate in requirement review meetings, providing input from a quality assurance perspective.
- Ensure adequate test coverage and proactively identify potential risks before software releases.
- Conduct performance and basic security testing as required.
- Review test cases and testing activities performed by junior SQA engineers.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior QA team members.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, standards, and methodologies.
- Work within Agile/Scrum frameworks, actively participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Prepare and maintain QA documentation, test reports, and release readiness reports.
- Ensure software releases meet defined quality standards prior to deployment.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 to 5+ years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Proficient in manual testing methodologies and best practices.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman.
- Familiarity with bug-tracking and project management tools like Jira.
- Experience with SQL and database testing.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to reliably commute or relocate to Gujranwala prior to starting work is mandatory.
