Sr. Structural Engineer

This role offers the opportunity to work on design reviews and technical audits for a variety of structures including concrete, steel, composite, post-tensioned, high-rise, industrial, and marine buildings, ensuring compliance with international codes and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive design reviews, technical audits, specialized studies, and expert assessments within your field of competence, primarily focusing on design appraisal.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and participate in meetings with clients and authorities to discuss design review outcomes.
- Evaluate structural designs using 2D/3D software, with a strong emphasis on concrete and steel structures, foundations, soil excavations, precast and prestressed concrete, steel connections, and façade systems.
- Review and analyze specifications, soil investigation reports, seismic and wind analyses, and perform calculations including load summaries, stress checks, and code compliance.
- Perform site inspections to monitor construction quality, review material submittals, method statements, and ensure adherence to quality assurance and control standards.
- Support commercial activities by preparing technical aspects of tenders, including scope of work, planning, and cost estimation.
- Manage design review phases, liaise with clients, designers, and project managers, and contribute to project reporting and cost tracking.
- Maintain strict compliance with Bureau Veritas and client Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, including the authority to halt unsafe work, conduct safety inductions, and promote continuous HSE improvements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, knowledge sharing, and contribute to best practices and knowledge management initiatives within the company.

Required Qualifications

- University degree in Engineering or a relevant postgraduate degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, particularly in design review and technical audits.
- Proficient in international standards and codes such as BS, AISC, ACI, IBC, UBC, ASTM, and local circulars.
- Licensed by Dubai Municipality for structural design review of unlimited height structures.
- Strong technical reporting skills in English.
- Skilled in structural design software and MS Office applications.
- Ability to interpret complex design drawings and documents.
- Experience in dynamic seismic design and wind load analysis on building cladding and facades.
- Excellent communication skills to professionally handle discussions with clients and authorities.
