Join Bureau Veritas, a global leader dedicated to quality assurance, health and safety, risk mitigation, environmental protection, and social responsibility. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will contribute your expertise to impactful projects within an inclusive and diverse environment. This role offers the chance to work alongside a dynamic team focused on building a world of trust while engaging in meaningful structural engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct technical audits and control services, including design reviews and specialized expert studies within your area of expertise. Perform structural design reviews for concrete, steel, composite, post-tensioned, high-rise, industrial, and marine structures, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards. Prepare detailed technical reports and actively participate in meetings with clients and authorities.

Evaluate designs using 2D/3D software under the guidance of the Team Leader, covering foundations, soil excavations, concrete and steel structures, connections, and façade systems. Review and analyze specifications, soil investigation reports, seismic and wind analyses, and perform calculations such as load summaries, stress checks, and code compliance verification.

Conduct basic site inspections to understand construction procedures, review material submittals and method statements, and carry out quality assurance and control activities, issuing reports as necessary. Support commercial activities by preparing the technical components of tenders, including scope of work, planning, and cost structure.

Manage design review phases of projects by liaising with clients, designers, and project managers, and contribute to project reporting. Maintain high professional standards through ongoing training, knowledge sharing, and dissemination of best practices. Strictly adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies by stopping work if unsafe conditions arise, reporting incidents, ensuring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and promoting safety awareness within the team.

Required Qualifications

A university degree in Engineering or a related postgraduate qualification is essential. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Senior Structural Engineer with proven expertise in structural engineering design review. Proficiency in international standards such as BS, AISC, ACI, IBC, UBC, ASTM, and relevant local circulars is required.

Licensing by Dubai Municipality for structural design review of unlimited height buildings is mandatory. Strong technical reporting skills in English are necessary, along with proficiency in structural design software and MS Office applications. A thorough understanding of concrete, steel, and composite structural design, including dynamic seismic and wind load considerations, is expected. The ability to interpret design drawings and documents and engage professionally with clients and authorities is crucial.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience with a broad range of structural elements, including foundations, precast and prestressed concrete, steel connections, and façade systems, is highly desirable. Familiarity with local standards and codes relevant to project locations will be advantageous. A commitment to continuous professional development through training, seminars, and technical literature is encouraged.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to product development and knowledge management within Bureau Veritas. The company culture emphasizes results orientation, customer focus, problem-solving, and personal efficiency. Active participation in HSE initiatives ensures a safe and healthy working environment for all team members.

The position is overseen by the BNI Manager and Design Review Team Leader, with key performance indicators including timely delivery and quality of reports, adherence to inspection protocols, client satisfaction, and contribution to business development.
