This entry-level role is designed for law graduates or newly qualified paralegals eager to develop deep expertise in financial services regulation while working at the cutting edge of regulatory technology. You will receive comprehensive onboarding and mentoring on regulatory content, so prior detailed knowledge of MiFID II is not required. However, we expect you to be rigorous, curious, and committed to accuracy. Your role will involve bridging legal source material with our data pipelines and machine learning models—reviewing regulatory changes, validating model classifications, and ensuring that our platform’s content precisely matches authoritative sources. While you don’t need to be a data scientist, your judgment will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our automated systems.

Key Responsibilities

Review regulatory change
- Monitor and assess updates to relevant regulations and exchange rulebooks, including EU and UK financial services regulations.
- Determine the nature, timing, and significance of changes, ensuring accurate reflection in the platform.
- Maintain clear, auditable records of all review decisions.

Validate the ML topic modelling
- Examine outputs from machine learning topic models to verify correct classification of regulatory content.
- Identify misclassifications and edge cases, providing structured feedback to improve model accuracy.
- Assist in maintaining a consistent and relevant topic taxonomy and data definitions as regulations evolve.

Check rulebook structural integrity
- Compare consolidated rulebooks in the platform against original regulatory sources to confirm structural accuracy, including hierarchy, ordering, versioning, and effective dates.
- Detect and escalate any gaps, duplications, or extraction errors.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to resolve issues and strengthen preventive controls.

Build the service
- Respond to client demands for additional data to accelerate service development.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews against written development requirements.
- Partner with Software Engineering to manage new regulation processing from capture through to product integration.

Required Qualifications
- A law degree, paralegal qualification, or equivalent legal training.
- Some exposure to financial services regulation, RegTech, or legal/compliance environments through study, internships, or work experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to spot even minor discrepancies.
- Discipline to follow structured review and QA processes consistently, maintaining clear records.
- Strong written communication skills, able to produce notes and feedback understandable by both legal and technical teams.
