This full-time, on-site position based in Islamabad seeks a dedicated Student Counselor to support students in navigating their academic journeys and career planning. The successful candidate will engage directly with students to understand their goals, provide tailored guidance, and assist them in making informed decisions about their education and future careers. This role requires a compassionate approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while managing student records and facilitating application processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to discuss academic progress, career aspirations, and personal development.
- Provide detailed information about educational programs, courses, and available resources to help students make informed choices.
- Assist students with application procedures, including admissions documentation and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student interactions.
- Collaborate with academic departments and administrative staff to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
- Monitor student progress and follow up on counseling outcomes to ensure continuous guidance.
- Uphold professional ethics and confidentiality standards in all communications and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience in student counseling or academic advising, preferably within an educational institution.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple cases and maintain detailed records.
- Proficiency in using office software and student information systems.
