Background
As an upcoming academy of tutors, we are looking for excellent candidates who can provide post-school group instruction to Matric and FSc students.
Responsibilities
We are looking for dedicated professionals who are committed to the academic progress of all students. As such, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Designing, preparing, and delivering daily lessons
- Ensuring that the course syllabus objectives are being met
- Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities and learning styles of individual students within the group
- Preparing students to perform well in their Matric or FSc examinations
- Assigning and grading student work
- Assessing, recording, and reporting student progress
- Ensuring high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching
Required Skills and Experience
The successful candidate should:
- Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant subject area (or in education/teaching)
- Have at least 3 years of relevant teaching experience in the Matric and FSc system (past student achievements in exams will be an asset)
- Demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of teaching methods
- Be passionate about raising student achievement and ensuring that each student reaches their potential
- Be able to provide day-to-day classroom leadership, inspiration, and management
- Possesses a keen understanding of the needs of Matric and FSc students, and an appreciation of their common struggles and issues in the subject area
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of English
