The Supervisor, Housekeeping plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the housekeeping department within a hospital setting. This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The role demands close attention to detail, effective team management, and adherence to hospital policies and safety regulations to support the overall health and well-being of everyone on the premises.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily housekeeping operations to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently met throughout the hospital.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, including scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
- Manage inventory and procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper usage.
- Conduct regular inspections of hospital areas to identify and address any cleanliness or maintenance issues promptly.
- Collaborate with other hospital departments to support infection control and patient care initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records related to housekeeping activities, staff attendance, and incident reports.
- Implement and enforce hospital policies regarding waste management, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to housekeeping staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated on best practices in hospital housekeeping.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in a supervisory role within housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, hygiene standards, and safety regulations relevant to healthcare settings.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
- Basic understanding of infection control practices and hospital safety protocols.
- Capability to conduct inspections and enforce compliance with established standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in housekeeping or facility management are advantageous.
