The Supply Chain/Transport Manager oversees the entire transport operation and supply chain processes to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of goods. This role involves managing fleet planning, driver scheduling, route optimization, and cost control to guarantee reliable, on-time dispatch and delivery. The manager handles inventory management, warehousing, and distribution while continuously identifying opportunities to improve service levels, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency. Although this position does not include managing a team, the role requires close collaboration with warehouse staff, drivers, customers, retailers, and internal teams to resolve issues and drive performance.


Responsibilities
  • Own and manage end-to-end transport operations including fleet planning and driver scheduling to ensure reliable and timely dispatch and delivery.
  • Optimize delivery routes to reduce mileage, fuel consumption, and transit times while maximizing on-time delivery performance.
  • Plan vehicle capacity utilization efficiently to maximize space usage and minimize necessary trips.
  • Monitor and control transportation costs such as fuel, tolls, maintenance, and third-party freight within budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Drive dispatch performance by ensuring accurate, complete, and timely handoff of orders from warehouse to transport, owning the order-to-dispatch ratio.
  • Coordinate with customers, retailers, and internal teams to resolve transit delays, delivery exceptions, and escalations promptly.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve service levels.
  • Manage all aspects of supply chain processes including inventory management, warehousing, and distribution to ensure smooth flow of goods.
  • Oversee warehouse and inventory operations, including order picking and outbound shipping, ensuring effective handover to the transport function.
  • Manage replenishment cycles to maintain optimal stock levels across various stock keeping units (SKUs) and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Forecast demand based on sales trends, seasonal fluctuations, and customer or retailer orders, providing insights to guide purchasing decisions.
  • Monitor competitor pricing and rate disparities, flag significant deviations, and recommend price adjustments to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on transport performance, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and warehouse operations for leadership review and decision-making.
