Sustainability Engineer - Jamshoro

A leading organization based in Jamshoro/Hyderabad, Sindh, is seeking an experienced Sustainability Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis. The role offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from PKR 150,000 to 180,000. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six years of relevant experience in sustainability, energy management, water management, or utility optimization. This position requires hands-on involvement in driving energy efficiency, water stewardship, and cost optimization initiatives to support the company’s sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

Energy Management and Carbon Reduction:
- Develop and implement energy-saving initiatives and comprehensive energy-reduction roadmaps.
- Conduct detailed energy audits to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Create Energy Performance Indicators (EnPIs), utility dashboards, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Energy Management System.
- Lead decarbonization and carbon-reduction projects to minimize environmental impact.

Water Management and Sustainability:
- Perform site water balance assessments and optimize overall water consumption.
- Identify and promote opportunities for water reduction, reuse, recycling, and replenishment.
- Monitor water treatment, wastewater treatment, and water quality systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Support Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) requirements and water stewardship programs.
- Conduct water risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Drive sustainable water management initiatives across the site to enhance resource efficiency.

Utility Cost Optimization:
- Monitor utility operating costs and manage monthly utility budgets effectively.
- Identify and implement operational expenditure (OPEX) reduction opportunities.
- Conduct financial analyses including ROI, payback period, and cost-benefit evaluations for utility projects.
- Track utility costs against budgets and improvement targets to ensure financial discipline.
- Develop robust business cases to support utility improvement projects.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of six years of relevant experience in sustainability, energy management, water management, or utility optimization.
- Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, carbon management, water stewardship, and water balance assessment.
- Proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
- ISO 50001 certification and/or water management certification is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications and Industry Experience
Candidates with experience in the Chemical, Textile, or Energy sectors will be given preference. However, professionals from other relevant industries with suitable expertise are encouraged to apply.
