The Sustainability Manager will lead the environmental and social performance efforts for the Reko Diq Project, ensuring all operations adhere to responsible and sustainable practices. This role is pivotal in managing environmental compliance, fostering strong community relationships, and developing programs that support local development while aligning with international standards such as the IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Sustainability Manager plays a key leadership role in establishing trust and transparency with local communities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to social and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and oversee all environmental and social performance activities related to the Reko Diq Project.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies, maintaining high standards of environmental management.
- Develop, implement, and monitor community engagement strategies to build and sustain positive relationships with local stakeholders.
- Design and manage community development programs that reflect local needs and priorities while adhering to international best practices.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to integrate sustainability considerations into project planning and execution.
- Monitor and report on environmental and social performance metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Act as the primary liaison between the project and local communities, addressing concerns and facilitating dialogue.
- Support risk management processes related to environmental and social issues, identifying potential impacts and mitigation measures.
- Provide training and guidance to project staff on sustainability policies and practices.
- Represent the company in external forums related to environmental and social responsibility.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Social Sciences, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing environmental and social performance within large-scale projects, preferably in the mining or extractive industries.
- Strong knowledge of international sustainability frameworks such as IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles.
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with local communities and stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility.
- Experience in designing and implementing community development programs.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills related to environmental and social data.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.
