System/Solution Architect

A prominent organization based in Lahore, Pakistan is seeking a skilled Systems/Solutions Architect to join their team on an on-site basis. The role requires working hours aligned with US timings, specifically from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable, and secure systems while collaborating with diverse teams to deliver innovative technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end architecture of complex systems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and maintainable. This includes designing solutions that incorporate technologies such as Redis or Valkey. Collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, developers, infrastructure teams, security experts, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical architectures.

Define target architectures, integration patterns, data flows, technology standards, and deployment models suitable for cloud, containerized, and hybrid environments. Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including diagrams, design decisions, technical specifications, and roadmaps.

Conduct technology evaluations through structured analysis and proof-of-concept activities, providing well-documented recommendations. Design systems with a focus on scalability, availability, resilience, performance, observability, disaster recovery, and operational supportability.

Incorporate data protection, identity and access management, encryption, threat mitigation, and cybersecurity requirements into solution designs. Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, from discovery and design through to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

Review application, integration, database, infrastructure, and security designs to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and architectural principles. Guide development teams on best practices including design patterns, coding standards, API design, database selection, caching strategies, and performance optimization.

Identify architectural risks, constraints, dependencies, and technical debt, and develop practical mitigation or modernization plans. Collaborate with global teams to conduct design reviews, resolve technical challenges, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. A minimum of five years’ professional experience in software architecture, solution architecture, systems design, or senior application development roles.

Proven experience designing medium- to large-scale applications in cloud, containerized, distributed, or hybrid environments. Strong knowledge of architectural principles, design patterns, microservices, APIs, integration techniques, event-driven systems, and distributed computing.

Hands-on application development experience using Java, Python, or comparable modern programming languages and frameworks. Experience working with relational database platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL, alongside solid data modeling skills.

Familiarity with AWS services and cloud architecture is essential; knowledge of Azure or Google Cloud platforms is an advantage. Understanding of containers, orchestration tools, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and DevSecOps practices.

In-depth knowledge of secure architecture principles, privacy, identity and access management, encryption, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity best practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and influence cross-functional teams.

Strong analytical, critical-thinking, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
