oomi® is a leading supplier of CRM solutions to the UK Not for Profit (NFP) sector.  Currently focusing on the membership sector, oomi’s client base ranges from Nautical Institute to the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow.  oomi® has assembled one of the most experienced management teams in this sector in the UK and is now entering a period of rapid growth.  oomi® was first to market in the UK NFP sector with a true MS Windows application, first with a true client-server implementation and now leads the way again with its unrivalled cloud-based, low-code platform.  oomi® is seeking a Sr. Creative Designer / Team Lead to be oomi’s expert on UI & UX covering both our client’s and oomi’s website and portal development.

 

 

  Role

 

 

As oomi’s Senior Creative Designer, you will report to the COO in the UK and be an expert on UI and UX.  You will work with the management team to define, hire, and manage a design/creative team that can define, design, build, and maintain websites for clients while adhering to agreed internal/external SLAs, budgets, and plan commitments.  Currently, clients are typically medium-sized membership organizations such as trade associations and professional bodies.  You must be comfortable communicating with all levels in the client organization from the Board level to end users.

 

 

This role is a hands-on role.  You will work with the COO to define and hire 1-2 resources to kick-start the team and you are expected to be involved directly in the client projects.  As the business scales and the team expands to meet increasing revenue targets, the role is anticipated to evolve to take on more management, mentoring, and strategic elements.

 

 

You will be responsible for the UI/UX elements of product development for our flagship CRM product, and Webjam, our low-code website building platform.  You will collaborate with product owners, engineering, clients, sales, and other teams to review & optimize the UI and UX of the products while maintaining a fresh and modern look-and-feel.

 

 

In addition, you will look after the website design and optimization of our corporate sites.  You will work with marketing and brand experts to support SEO, SEM, and conversion optimizations.

 

 

Lastly, you will work other teams (sales, marketing, account management) to define the look-and-feel of our brand for the company and ensure the brand is reflected customer communications and sales/marketing collateral.

 

 

  Responsibilities

 

 

As Sr. Creative Designer/Team Lead, you will need to:

 

 

  • define, hire, and lead the creative team
  • work with the COO to create a revenue generating business
  • maintain an excellent knowledge of design UX and website development, to the extent that clients view you as a trustworthy expert
  • proactively scope the website solution required to address customer requirements, assess customers met and unmet needs, and recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and oomi
  • secure input from all necessary solution stakeholders within the client organization and adapt solutions, as necessary, to ensure appropriate support
  • secure from customer staff commitments needed to ensure the project’s successful delivery
  • define and build a team that can deliver on website design, development, and ongoing maintenance
  • manage and track any required after-sales support services
  • manage, and in some cases, perform the needed remote website training to the clients
  • analyse and track costs and commitments
  • provide training and produce sales support material for the sales team in support of the website business
  • Keep up-to-date on design trends, best practices, technologies
  • Apply the above UI/UX execution disciplines to the oomi’s own products and brand

 

 

  What to Expect

 

 

  • You will focus on the offering of the website creation business, working with clients, sales team, and a website team to achieve the clients’ needs and support revenue growth
  • You will bring your design and UI/UX experience to “wow!” the clients with the website possibilities
  • You will also bring your UI/UX experience to oomi’s own products – be it the oomi brand, the CRM system, or the oomi website
  • You will play a key role in defining UI/UX standards, tools, and workflows within the company
  • You will play a key role in defining oomi’s brand and brand-style

 

 

 Qualifications / Skills / Experience Requirements

 

 

You will need to have:

 

 

  • 5 years’ experience with much of the time in a UI/UX or similar role
  • proven background of design skills and projects (be ready to share your portfolio)
  • knowledge of UI/UX design workshops, design sprints, usability reviews, and other similar techniques
  • knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including XD or similar a strong plus
  • knowledge of CMS systems like Umbraco, Kentico, WordPress a strong plus
  • knowledge of marketing formats, mobile marketing a plus
  • excellent English communication skills
  • ability to build relationships quickly and effectively
  • proven ability to lead a small team (likely to be designers & developers)
  • organizational and good time-management skills
  • excellent attention to detail
  • ability to be pragmatic while maintaining high standards
  • sound judgement and good business sense
