We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax & Compliance Executive with practical experience in Pakistani taxation and local statutory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of Pakistan’s tax laws, FBR processes, IRIS system, withholding tax, sales tax, and other regulatory requirements. This role demands hands-on involvement in tax filing, compliance management, and coordination with relevant authorities to ensure timely and accurate tax-related submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file Personal and Corporate Income Tax Returns in compliance with Pakistani tax regulations.
- Manage FBR-related matters, including Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax, and respond to tax notices.
- Conduct monthly and annual tax reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure timely submission of tax returns, statutory filings, and other compliance documentation.
- Liaise with FBR and other government bodies on taxation and compliance issues.
- Support tax planning initiatives, maintain tax documentation, and uphold compliance records.
- Keep accurate tax and statutory records for internal use and audit purposes.
- Assist with external and internal audits by providing necessary tax documentation and support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, ACCA, CA (Part Qualified), ICMA, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 1 year of direct experience in Pakistani taxation and tax compliance.
- Strong practical knowledge of Pakistan’s tax laws and regulatory framework.
- Proficient in using FBR IRIS for tax filing and related processes.
- Solid understanding of Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Withholding Tax in Pakistan.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation abilities.
Candidates must have hands-on experience specifically with Pakistani or local taxation. Those with only general accounting, international taxation, or tax experience outside Pakistan will not be considered.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Experience
- Experience with Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) compliance.
- Familiarity with EOBI and PESSI/Social Security regulations.
- Knowledge of SECP compliance requirements.
- Experience managing payroll taxation and withholding tax processes.
- Proven ability to handle FBR notices and tax-related correspondence effectively.
