We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Officer to join our Tax Department. The successful candidate will manage daily tax matters, ensuring full compliance with relevant tax laws. Responsibilities include preparing tax returns and statements, handling withholding tax processes, and maintaining accurate tax documentation. Candidates with experience in FMCG, distribution, trading, or corporate taxation will be highly preferred. A strong understanding of Pakistan’s tax laws, FBR regulations, and compliance requirements related to income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, and corporate tax is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day taxation activities and ensure timely compliance with applicable tax laws.
- Prepare and file income tax, sales tax, withholding tax, and other relevant tax returns and statements.
- Calculate, deduct, deposit, and report withholding tax accurately.
- Review sales, purchases, expenses, and other transactions to confirm proper tax treatment.
- Maintain and reconcile tax records, ledgers, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure adherence to FBR rules, tax laws, notifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in responding to FBR notices, tax assessments, audits, inquiries, and correspondence.
- Prepare supporting documents and working papers for tax audits and assessments.
- Coordinate with Accounts, Finance, Sales, Procurement, and other departments on tax-related matters.
- Monitor updates in taxation laws and advise management on their impact on business operations.
- Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping for all tax-related transactions.
- Identify tax risks and support compliance efforts across business functions.
- Perform additional taxation and compliance tasks as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Accounting & Finance, Commerce, Corporate Tax Law, or a related discipline.
- LLB degree with relevant taxation or corporate tax knowledge will also be considered.
- 2 to 4 years of practical experience in taxation, preferably within FMCG, distribution, trading, or corporate environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Pakistan Tax Laws and FBR regulations.
- Proficient understanding of Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax, and Corporate Tax compliance.
- Hands-on experience using FBR Iris and other relevant tax portals.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and familiarity with accounting or ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and capability to meet strict tax deadlines.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience in FMCG or distribution companies is highly desirable. Corporate taxation exposure and experience handling FBR notices, audits, assessments, and interactions with tax authorities will be advantageous. Candidates combining taxation expertise with corporate or legal knowledge will be preferred.
We offer a competitive salary package ranging from Rs70,000 to Rs100,000 per month, along with an annual bonus.
