We are seeking a knowledgeable Tax Officer to join our Taxation & Compliance team, focusing on Pakistan’s taxation system. The ideal candidate will have practical experience managing Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) matters, including working with the IRIS platform, handling Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax, tax returns, registrations, notices, and other statutory compliance obligations. This role demands a detail-oriented professional who can ensure timely and accurate tax compliance for a diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and file Income Tax Returns for individuals, companies, firms, and other taxpayers in line with Pakistani tax laws. Submit Sales Tax Returns while ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and deadlines. Compile and file Withholding Tax Statements according to applicable tax legislation. Manage FBR IRIS-related activities such as tax registrations, return filings, amendments, and applications. Monitor clients’ compliance with Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Withholding Tax deadlines to prevent penalties. Prepare tax computations, working papers, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to validate tax filings. Review accounting and financial records to identify tax liabilities and deductions, ensuring accurate reporting. Handle FBR notices, letters, audits, inquiries, and correspondence, assisting in preparing appropriate responses. Support clients with Active Taxpayer List (ATL) matters, tax profiles, CNIC Profile Records (CPRs), Pakistan Single Identification Numbers (PSIDs), refunds, and tax payments. Calculate and review advance tax, withholding tax, sales tax, and other applicable tax liabilities. Assist with compliance related to provincial sales tax laws enforced by Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), Sindh Revenue Board (SRB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA), and Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) when applicable. Coordinate with clients to obtain necessary financial and tax documentation for compliance. Maintain accurate records of tax filings, payments, notices, correspondence, and other compliance documents. Provide basic tax guidance to clients based on current Pakistani tax regulations. Perform additional taxation and compliance duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications
Strong practical knowledge of Pakistan Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Withholding Tax regulations. Experience working with FBR systems, especially IRIS, for tax registrations and filings. Proven ability to prepare and file Income Tax Returns, Sales Tax Returns, and Withholding Tax Statements. Skilled in managing FBR notices, audits, and correspondence effectively. Competence in tax computation, reconciliation, and preparation of supporting documentation. Familiarity with provincial sales tax laws and compliance requirements. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client deadlines efficiently. Strong communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and tax authorities.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Prior experience in a similar tax officer role within Pakistan is advantageous. Knowledge of tax refund processes and Active Taxpayer List management is preferred. Ability to provide basic tax advisory services to clients is a plus. The salary for this position starts from Rs40,000 per month. The role requires on-site presence.
