Tax Trainee

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual eager to develop a career in Accounts & Finance. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of accounting, taxation, compliance, financial reporting, and operations. The position is based in Karachi and provides an excellent opportunity to work closely with financial processes in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Process and maintain payments, receipts, invoices, and other financial records accurately.
- Perform accounting entries and reconciliations using QuickBooks software.
- Assist with Sales Tax and Withholding Tax (WHT) calculations, filing of returns, payments, and maintaining related documentation.
- Support compliance efforts with regulatory bodies such as FBR (Federal Board of Revenue), PRA (Pakistan Revenue Authority), and SRB (Sindh Revenue Board).
- Assist in managing tax and regulatory notices, coordinating with tax advisers when necessary.
- Support monthly and year-end closing activities, including financial reporting and audit preparations.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential financial and tax documentation to ensure compliance and ease of reference.

Required Qualifications

- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial record-keeping.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Knowledge of Sales Tax and Withholding Tax regulations.
- Awareness of regulatory requirements related to FBR, PRA, and SRB.
- Ability to assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work on-site in Karachi.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Prior experience or internship in accounting, taxation, or finance is advantageous.
- Exposure to handling tax notices and coordinating with tax professionals.
