We are seeking a dedicated primary school teacher to deliver quality education at a remote READ Foundation school. The role involves following the academic calendar and adhering to the Foundation’s teaching standards to ensure effective learning outcomes. The teacher will engage students through well-planned lessons, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment. This position requires commitment to professional development and active participation in school activities beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons for assigned grades and subjects in line with the curriculum.
- Maintain daily student attendance and keep accurate classroom records.
- Assess student progress through weekly quizzes, monthly tests, and final examinations.
- Prepare students for final exams and assist in compiling results.
- Participate actively in teacher training sessions and ongoing professional development.
- Ensure classroom discipline and create a safe, child-friendly environment.
- Immediately report any safeguarding concerns to the Principal.
- Support school cleanliness and manage stock in coordination with support staff.
- Engage students in sports, competitions, and extracurricular activities.
- Utilize low-cost and locally available teaching aids as directed by the Literacy & Numeracy Coach.
Additional Responsibilities for Model School Teachers
- Uphold high teaching standards and demonstrate exemplary classroom practices.
- Mentor Satellite School teachers during bi-monthly support visits.
- Conduct demonstration lessons for visiting teachers to showcase effective teaching methods.
Required Qualifications
- Proven ability to plan and deliver quality lessons in primary education.
- Experience in maintaining accurate attendance and assessment records.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain discipline and safety.
- Commitment to student learning outcomes with measurable improvements in literacy and numeracy.
- Willingness to participate in professional development and training activities.
- Ability to use low-cost teaching aids effectively.
- For Model School teachers: experience in mentoring and conducting demonstration lessons.
Performance Expectations
- Achieve a student attendance rate of at least 85%.
- Demonstrate measurable improvement in students’ literacy and numeracy skills.
- Submit weekly lesson plans to the Principal consistently.
- Model School teachers must complete and document support visits twice a month.
- Be accountable for student learning outcomes, accurate record-keeping, and classroom safety.
Additional Information
