Tech. Business Analyst

Point of IT is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join our Islamabad-based team. This role requires working hours from 8 PM to 5 AM PKT, aligning with Pacific Time, so candidates must be comfortable with this schedule. The position is customer-facing and involves understanding and analyzing business requirements, application workflows, and translating these needs into clear functional and technical specifications for development teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, a solid grasp of software development processes, and experience collaborating directly with customers, developers, QA, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Gather and analyze business and technical requirements from customers and stakeholders.
- Conduct requirement-gathering sessions and workshops to clarify needs.
- Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flow diagrams.
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable functional requirements for development teams.
- Analyze existing applications, workflows, integrations, and business processes to identify improvements.
- Collaborate closely with developers, QA, project managers, and customers throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and impacts related to proposed changes.
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other Agile activities.
- Provide clarification on requirements and functional guidance to development and QA teams.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), testing, and validation of delivered functionality.
- Perform data analysis and basic SQL queries for validation and troubleshooting purposes.
- Understand APIs, integrations, data flows, and web-based applications to support technical discussions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date requirements and project documentation.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a similar role.
- Strong expertise in requirements gathering and functional analysis.
- Good understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proven experience preparing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process documentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of SQL, APIs, integrations, and web applications.
- Experience collaborating with development and QA teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Prior experience working directly with customers.
- Familiarity with CRM, ERP, eCommerce, or other business applications is considered a plus.
