Technical Business Analyst

Point of IT is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join our Islamabad-based team. This role requires working hours aligned with Pacific Time (8 PM – 5 AM PKT), so candidates must be comfortable with this schedule. The position involves close interaction with customers to understand their business needs, analyze application processes, and translate these into clear functional and technical requirements for development teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, a solid understanding of software development life cycles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, developers, QA, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Gather and analyze business and technical requirements from customers and stakeholders.
- Conduct requirement-gathering sessions and workshops to ensure clarity and completeness.
- Prepare detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable functional requirements for development teams.
- Analyze existing applications, workflows, integrations, and business processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with developers, QA, project managers, and customers throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and impacts related to proposed changes.
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Clarify requirements and provide functional guidance to development and QA teams during implementation.
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), testing, and validation of delivered functionality.
- Perform data analysis and basic SQL queries to support validation and troubleshooting.
- Understand APIs, integrations, data flows, and web-based applications to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date requirements and project documentation.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or a similar role.
- Proven expertise in requirements gathering and functional analysis.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience preparing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process documentation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of SQL, APIs, integrations, and web applications.
- Experience collaborating with development and QA teams.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence is preferred.
- Comfortable working directly with customers to gather requirements and provide support.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Experience

- Experience with CRM, ERP, eCommerce, or other business applications is considered a plus.
- Prior experience working in a customer-facing role within a technical environment is advantageous.
