Technical Development Lead

Chai Vision, a rapidly expanding eCommerce company managing diverse direct-to-consumer brands, is seeking a Technical Development Lead to drive the technical strategy and development of Lifepro’s connected fitness ecosystem. This role focuses on delivering high-quality mobile applications and IoT integrations across iOS, Android, Tuya, and Copilot/Star platforms. The position is based onsite in Pakistan, working full-time with a schedule aligned to New York time (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST/EDT). The successful candidate will translate business priorities into scalable technical solutions, oversee the entire development lifecycle from hardware readiness to app release, and build a development team as the product portfolio grows. This role requires hands-on coding, technical leadership, and close coordination with factories, vendors, and internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the technical architecture, development standards, and roadmap aligned with business goals. Evaluate platform capabilities and integration options, recommending solutions that balance cost, reliability, and scalability.
- Develop and maintain production mobile applications on iOS and Android using Flutter and React Native. Troubleshoot native features in Swift and Kotlin, including BLE, Wi-Fi provisioning, permissions, and notifications.
- Integrate Tuya SDK for device pairing, control, status reporting, and OTA firmware updates, as well as Copilot/Star APIs for cloud synchronization.
- Manage build processes, CI/CD pipelines, and app submissions to the App Store and Google Play, ensuring timely resolution of production issues.
- Translate requirements and UX designs into actionable development tasks with clear acceptance criteria. Lead sprint planning and maintain project tracking in Monday.com.
- Coordinate with factories on firmware compatibility, certification documentation, and sample readiness. Manage dependencies with Tuya and Copilot/Star platforms, escalating risks with proposed solutions.
- Collaborate with UX teams on technical feasibility, user flows, and error handling. Partner with QA on test coverage, device testing, regression, and defect resolution. Provide hands-on support for testing and release validation as needed.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and code reviews while ensuring security and hardware compatibility.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and establish development practices to support onboarding and team growth. Mentor developers and lead team expansion efforts.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering production mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Flutter/Dart and React Native/TypeScript, with native development and debugging skills in Swift and Kotlin.
- Proven experience integrating IoT SDKs such as Tuya, including BLE/Wi-Fi provisioning and connected device control.
- Solid understanding of mobile architecture, REST APIs, real-time messaging, authentication, and secure data handling.
- Ability to lead technical planning, sprint execution, and manage dependencies across manufacturers and platform providers.
- Practical QA skills including test planning, physical-device validation, regression testing, and defect investigation.
- Experience with Git, code reviews, CI/CD workflows, and app release processes on App Store and Google Play.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, including critical review and validation of generated code.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to guide technical, UX, and business stakeholders effectively.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Knowledge of Copilot/Star platform API integration.
- Background working with consumer electronics factories, particularly in China.
- Understanding of BLE GATT protocols, OTA firmware workflows, and fitness-device data.

- Prior experience recruiting, mentoring, or managing development teams.
