Technical Development Lead

Chai Vision is seeking a Technical Development Lead to drive the technical strategy and hands-on development of Lifepro’s connected fitness ecosystem across iOS, Android, Tuya, and the Copilot/Star platform. This role is critical in delivering a seamless app experience that fosters customer retention and brand loyalty by integrating hardware and software from factory readiness through to app release. You will translate business priorities into scalable technical solutions, manage vendor coordination, and ensure engineering quality while building and leading a development team as the product portfolio expands. The position is full-time, based onsite in Pakistan, working New York time hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST/EDT), with a starting salary of $1,400 USD.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the technical architecture, development standards, and roadmap aligned with business goals, evaluating platform capabilities and recommending solutions based on cost, reliability, and scalability.
- Develop and maintain production mobile applications using Flutter and React Native, with native Swift and Kotlin expertise to handle BLE, Wi-Fi provisioning, notifications, and platform-specific features.
- Integrate Tuya SDK for device pairing, control, status reporting, and OTA firmware updates, as well as Copilot/Star APIs for cloud synchronization.
- Manage build processes, CI/CD pipelines, and app store submissions while resolving production issues efficiently.
- Translate UX designs and requirements into actionable development tasks with clear acceptance criteria and manage sprint planning and priorities using Monday.com.
- Coordinate with factories on firmware, connectivity, certification, and sample readiness, while managing dependencies and escalating risks related to Tuya and Copilot/Star integrations.
- Collaborate with UX and QA teams to ensure technical feasibility, test coverage, device validation, regression testing, and defect resolution, stepping in for hands-on testing when necessary.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and code reviews, ensuring security and hardware compatibility.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and establish development practices to support team growth, mentoring developers as the team expands.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience delivering production mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
- Proficiency in Flutter/Dart and React Native/TypeScript, with strong native development and debugging skills in Swift and Kotlin.
- Experience integrating IoT SDKs such as Tuya, including BLE/Wi-Fi provisioning and connected device management.
- Solid understanding of mobile architecture, REST APIs, real-time messaging, authentication, and secure data handling.
- Proven ability to manage technical planning, sprint execution, and coordinate across manufacturers and platform providers.
- Practical QA skills including test planning, physical device validation, regression testing, and defect investigation.
- Familiarity with Git, code reviews, CI/CD workflows, and app store release processes.
- Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, including critical review and validation of generated code.
- Strong written communication skills to effectively guide technical, UX, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Direct experience with Tuya cloud projects, DP configuration, Smart App SDK, or MiniApps.
- Familiarity with Copilot/Star platform API integration.
- Background working with consumer electronics factories, particularly in China.
- Knowledge of BLE GATT protocols, OTA firmware workflows, and fitness device data.
- Experience in connected fitness, wellness, or consumer hardware applications.
- Prior experience recruiting, mentoring, or managing development teams.
