Technical Lead – Forward Deployed Engineering (AI & Digital)

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Forward Deployed Engineering (AI & Digital) for a full-time, onsite position at our DHA Islamabad office. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the architecture, development, and deployment of advanced AI-powered and enterprise digital solutions, ensuring they meet high standards of scalability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Engineering Management: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams including software engineers, AI specialists, and cloud experts. Provide technical guidance throughout the software development lifecycle, establish engineering best practices, conduct design and code reviews, and collaborate with stakeholders to define roadmaps and delivery strategies. Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks.

Forward Deployed Engineering: Design, customize, and deploy technology solutions within enterprise environments. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical specifications. Develop AI-integrated software solutions, oversee prototyping, production deployment, and post-deployment optimization. Troubleshoot complex technical challenges while ensuring solutions meet business, performance, and security requirements.

Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Engineering: Lead the development and integration of AI-driven applications, including generative AI using large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI orchestration frameworks. Evaluate and integrate AI platforms and services, develop scalable AI pipelines, and work with data teams to ensure data quality and governance. Advocate for responsible AI practices including model evaluation and risk management.

Software Architecture & Application Development: Design scalable, maintainable, and secure architectures for enterprise applications. Lead backend development using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask. Implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems. Manage integration with cloud services, databases, and third-party platforms. Support application modernization and cloud migration initiatives.

Cloud Engineering & DevOps: Architect and deploy solutions on cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. Implement containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, establish CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure monitoring, logging, and compliance with governance standards. Optimize cloud resource utilization and operational efficiency.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Solution Delivery: Serve as the primary technical liaison for engineering initiatives and enterprise deployments. Partner with product managers, business analysts, and architects to define project scope and technical requirements. Communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, provide technical estimates and documentation, support Agile methodologies, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in software engineering, enterprise application development, and technical solution architecture.
- Proven leadership in managing engineering teams and delivering complex enterprise projects.
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern development frameworks.
- Hands-on experience designing APIs, microservices, distributed, and cloud-native systems.
- Expertise in AI/ML technologies, generative AI, and enterprise AI integration.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Availability to work full-time onsite at DHA Islamabad during the 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM shift.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related disciplines.
- Experience with AI development frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, and OpenAI APIs.
- Knowledge of vector databases, semantic search, embeddings, and RAG architectures.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies like React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure automation.
- Understanding of enterprise data engineering platforms and MLOps.
- Relevant certifications in cloud architecture, AI engineering, or software development.
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs180,000 to Rs200,000.
- Work mode is 100% onsite at the DHA Islamabad office, supporting a collaborative and inclusive work environment aligned with Agile methodologies.
