Technical Lead (Web & Mobile Development)

QF Network is looking for an experienced Technical Lead with a strong background in web and mobile development to lead our software engineering team and manage the technical architecture across various client projects. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer with significant expertise in software architecture, code review, and technical decision-making, capable of managing teams of 10 to 20+ developers. This senior leadership role requires balancing deep technical knowledge with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the technical planning and approve architecture for web and mobile projects, selecting suitable technology stacks, frameworks, databases, and system designs. Establish scalable application architectures, database schemas, and coding standards while proactively identifying technical risks, scalability issues, and integration challenges early in development. Review and approve developers’ code and pull requests prior to QA, ensuring code quality, security, performance, maintainability, and compliance with established standards. Define Git workflows, code review processes, testing protocols, and deployment standards; identify architectural weaknesses, technical debt, and recurring development issues.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of around 20 developers, resolving technical roadblocks and promoting consistent engineering practices. Collaborate closely with project managers to maintain realistic timelines and development priorities. Oversee the technical execution of multiple projects concurrently by reviewing requirements, assessing feasibility, and recommending effective solutions. Identify and mitigate development risks promptly while ensuring consistency in architecture and delivery quality across projects.

Conduct research on emerging technologies, frameworks, AI solutions, and third-party integrations; develop proofs of concept to validate technical approaches. Support project managers and sales teams with technical estimations, solution planning, and proposal reviews. Participate in client meetings to discuss technical requirements, solutions, and implementation challenges.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years in a Technical Lead or Engineering Team Lead role. Proven ability to lead or supervise teams of 10+ developers across multiple projects. Strong hands-on expertise in modern web technologies such as React.js, Next.js, Node.js, PHP, and Laravel. Practical experience in mobile application development using React Native or Flutter. Solid understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, system integrations, and scalable application architectures.

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure. Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, and deployment workflows. Demonstrated ability to establish engineering standards and maintain code quality in agency, software house, or product development environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills. Excellent English communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience with AI/LLM integrations, AI-powered applications, and API-based automation is highly desirable. Background in developing SaaS platforms, Shopify applications, or complex third-party integrations is a plus. Previous experience working with clients from the US, UK, or Europe is advantageous. Familiarity with managing multiple concurrent client projects in a software development agency setting is preferred.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Karachi, Pakistan. The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, ranging from PKR 200,000 to PKR 450,000 or higher. Candidates must be available to work on-site and possess the ability to independently make architectural decisions, review code across projects, and lead development teams effectively. This role requires substantial technical leadership experience and strong hands-on software engineering skills and is not suitable for individual contributors without prior team leadership or architectural oversight experience.
