Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product management/business teams to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value and objectives.
- Collaborate with users and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and perform necessary business analysis.
- Defining product backlog/release roadmap and align them to strategic goals.
- Keep up with Agile/Scrum best practices and trends.
- Facilitate business understanding to Scrum teams.
- Develop detailed product feature specifications, PRDs, story maps and ensure they’re clearly understood by the development team.
- Plan, groom, size, and prioritize product feature backlog.
- Develop and prioritize user stories epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy.
- Set sprint goals, define acceptance criteria, and perform sprint reviews.
- Lead the product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities.
- Actively mitigate roadblocks impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals.
- Make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
- Follow progress of work and address production issues during sprints.
- Serve as the voice of the customer internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions related to the product.
- Refine our agile methodology based on results and client feedback.
- Keep track of industry trends
We require you to have the following
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience as a product owner.
- Experienced in technology product development.
- Knowledge of software development and web technologies.
- Work experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in product management is a big asset.
- In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles.
- Experience managing all stages of the product development life cycle is a plus.
- Hands-on experience working with backlog management tools (JIRA, Trello, Azure DevOps, etc…)
- Understanding of business value around feature/functions.
- Knows how to manage the product backlog and align it with the overall product roadmap.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, attention to details, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver on a common goal.
- Able to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder needs
