We are looking for a PHP web developer to manage the online development efforts for the company. You’ll be involved in all aspects of the development process as well as planning new features and functionality to expand the existing bespoke software. You must have excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP.
Build and develop new features and core functionality for an existing web-based application written predominately in PHP. You’ll be working to expand the current functionality and implement new features on our roadmap but also free to work on new ideas to extend the application and improve the overall usability and performance. You’ll work on both client-side and server-side code to achieve your goals.
Skills Required
- Experience building web-based applications and scripts with proven portfolio work.
- High-Level OOP PHP skills. Highly proficient with the language and happy with trying out new ideas and concepts.
- Database design and strong skills in MySQL5.
- In-depth HTML, CSS and JavaScript knowledge.
- Knowledge of the jQuery library.
- Good knowledge of coding practices and methodology.
- Experience in Git.
- Knowledge of the LAMP stack and a Unix based operating systems.
- Experience of using open source development platforms and libraries.
- Ability to communicate ideas verbally in a coherent and impassioned manner.
- Must have previous experience with MVC frameworks ( Symfony, Laravel, etc.).
- Must have previous experience with API implementation/integration.
The following skills/attributes would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Java / Android SDK or Objective C / XCode
- A flexible attitude and happy to work in a small team.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Automated testing frameworks, e.g. unit testing experience.
