Job Summary
Techtix is looking for a Backend Web Application Developer having experience with Ruby on Rails or Node JS.
Responsibilities:
- Design and code backend applications as per software specifications and guidelines.
- Writing clean, modular and scalable code to ensure reliability and scalability of applications.
- Extend existing applications through enhancements and integrations with third-party platforms.
- Assist in estimating time required to complete projects.
- Advance knowledge with regards to programming languages and tools, in order to successfully perform job functions.
- Demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is needed.
- Follow plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion.
- Meet all productivity requirements in expected timeframe or deadline
- Demonstrate reliability by arriving to work on time and taking breaks in expected timeframes.
- Demonstrate team behavior and must be willing to promote a team-oriented environment.
- Take new initiative and strive to continually improve processes and relationships.
Work Experience and skills:
Required:
- 2+ years of production experience with Ruby on Rails or Node JS.
- Experience with MongoDB or Postgresql.
- Strong understanding of database design process and query engines.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Self learning and team leading attitude.
- Experience with designing and writing Restful APIs.
- Experience with websockets
- Experience of working with 3rd party APIs.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix tools and utilities.
- Sound knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with writing unit tests.
- Experience with payment gateways.
- Experience with CI/CD and automated deployments.
- Self discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality with business functions, management and development
- Good communication skills
