• Reports to the Nominated Qatargas Maintenance Supervisor.
  • As directed, leads or carries out maintenance of on-line analyzers & sampling systems and fire & gas detection and associated control system including troubleshooting of failures, validation, and calibration to retain them in functional and good operating order for reliable performance with minimum or no supervision.
  • Ensures compliance with PPM requirements and prepares records of validation/calibration data and details of maintenance activities carried out. 
  • Guide Analyser Technicians for effective execution of jobs in time and achieving appropriate standard of work.
  • Communicates with supervisor other maintenance crafts and operations and provides feedback on job progress.
  • Reviews work notifications, manages work orders and provides details of maintenance activities for SAP records.
  • Evaluate and report on maintenance needs and priorities in his area of responsibility.
  • Prepares records of validation / calibration data and details of maintenance activities for all critical (fiscal, product quality, emission monitoring) analysers.
  • Assists in coordinating with Laboratory & environmental engineers to resolve discrepancies between on-line versus Laboratory sample analysis and verification of calibration gas composition when in doubt.
  • Participates in acceptance tests of new and upgrade systems, identifies deficiencies and provides punch list.
  • Participating in diagnosis and repair of faults and breakdowns.
  • Compiles and submits reports on incidents and failure investigations as and when required.
  • Conduct toolbox meeting with other technicians and insist on strict adherence to Qatargas safety rules. 
  • Ensures safety of personnel and equipment through compliance with company’s Environmental Health and Safety policies, procedures and standards. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience with at least 8 years on online analyzers in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.  
  • Good knowledge of micro-processor based complex on-line process analyzers such as gas chromatographs, continuous emission monitoring systems, water quality analyzers, and good understanding of Analyzer networking, analyzer data acquisition systems  and personnel computer-based work stations as applied to online analytical systems is essential.
  • Hands-on experience preferably with Yokogawa (GC 1000) and/or Siemens (Maxum Edition II) gas chromatographs & associated analytical network, Ametek H2S, SO2, moisture & oxygen, Galvanic Applied Sciences H2S, Panametrics moisture and physical properties analyzers such as vapour pressure, electrochemical analyzers, and continuous emission monitoring systems and associated sample conditioning.
  • Independently troubleshoots failures, problems and issues with sample systems and complex analyzers such as gas chromatographs, spectrophotometric and moisture analyzers.
  • Understands Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Loop Drawings and Cause & Effect, simple function block & logic diagrams.
  • Familiar with a permit-to-work system and LOTO and temporary defeat system procedures.
  • Should be conversant with the terms and specifications of hazardous locations, protection concepts as well as inspections, maintenance and repairs of such equipment.
  • Installation, calibration, testing and commissioning of online analyzers in a diversified oil & gas processing, LNG or petrochemical plant.
  • Knowledge of network communication equipment such as hubs, switches, routers, fiber optic converters etc. and Modbus & Ethernet would be an advantageous.
  • Good adaptability to multinational environment with wide exposure to various cultures and customs.
  • A strong focus on safety is paramount and practical know-how of permit to work systems and lock out procedures applicable to LNG / Petrochemical plants is required.
  • Familiar with and experienced in working with H2S rich process
