Textile Designer

Dhaga is seeking a talented and imaginative Textile Designer to join our team, focusing on creating original prints and embroidery concepts for our women’s ready-to-wear collections, co-ord sets, kaftans, and kidswear. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transforming initial design ideas into production-ready artwork that aligns with our brand identity, customer preferences, and garment silhouettes. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of textile design processes from concept through to final execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Create original repeat, placement, and panel prints tailored for seasonal collections.
- Develop unique motifs, colour palettes, and coordinated colourways that complement the overall design direction.
- Design embroidery concepts, including placements and colour references, ensuring they enhance the garment aesthetic.
- Prepare production-ready artwork with precise dimensions, repeat sizes, placements, and colour specifications to facilitate smooth manufacturing.
- Collaborate closely with the design team as well as printing and embroidery vendors to oversee sampling and implement necessary revisions.
- Review fabric and garment samples to ensure colour accuracy, correct scale, precise placement, and overall execution quality.
- Conduct trend research and translate insights into distinctive, commercially viable designs that resonate with the target market.
- Maintain an organised archive of artwork, technical specifications, and approved samples for easy reference and future use.

Required Qualifications

- A strong portfolio showcasing expertise in textile prints, colour development, and embroidery concepts.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other relevant textile design software.
- Solid understanding of repeat patterns, garment placement, scale, and colour separation techniques.
- Knowledge of various fabrics, printing methods, and embroidery processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and effective time management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in fashion or lifestyle design is highly desirable, providing valuable insight into current market trends and consumer preferences.
