JOB SUMMARY (Overall purpose of the job):

Assistant Manager purchase is responsible for procurement of medicinal items and responsible to ensure regulatory compliance as per DRAP regulation and renewals of pharmacy licenses for all AKHS,P operations in liaison with AKU Group Purchase and in accordance with the procurement SOPs.

 

Routine Tasks:

  1. Responsible for the procurement of capital, consumable (inclusive of pharmacy procurement) and services for all AKHS,P operations in liaison with AKU Group Purchase and in accordance with the procurement SOPs.
  2. Responsible to Develop, lead and execute procurement strategies for across the operational board.
  3. Responsible to conduct data collection and analyze the internal needs. Develop and follow supply market knowledge and insight (e.g suppliers, price trends, cost drivers, acquisition & disposals etc.)
  4. Ensures timely renewals of pharmacy licences
  5. Coordinate with DRAP for regulatory compliance and confirmation of registration of medicines if purchased outside GPD contracts.
  6. .Responsible for executing the sourcing strategy, including tendering, analysis, selection of and negotiation with suppliers, including crafting and placing of legal agreements/contracts and confidentiality agreements and ensure that all are conducted in accordance with AKUH Group procurement code of business ethics and corporate social responsibility requirements.
  7. Responsible to manage imports and international procurement that include having transparent bidding process, vendor selection, negotiation and delivery of commodities to the warehouse.
  8. Exploring new avenues/locations for cost effective purchasing without compromising on quality standards.
  9. Actively search, evaluate and pre-qualify suppliers and conduct analysis of purchase price variance on regular basis.
  10. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expense and improve effectiveness.
  11. Responsible for managing contracts/agreements of tenancy, Logistics and other service contracts.
  12. To coordinate with regions regarding day to day issues.
  13. Ensure that payment to the vendors is timely made.
  14. Maintain strong liaison with the key stakeholders and Central Warehouse.
  15. Responsible to develop and sustain relationship with key stakeholders and vendor.
  16. Managment of the complete inventory of the pharamcy
