AKHS, P is looking for a dynamic young professional with skills in data management and analysis. The individual will help establish rigorous data collection, validation, and analysis systems that will inform evidence-based decision making for public health programming. The incumbent will establish regular data reporting and sharing mechanisms allowing managers to monitor program progress, improve operations, and assess impact of various strategies. S/he will work with various levels of the health system and AKHS, P program and operational teams to design data tools, data flow and reporting mechanisms that reach decision makers in real time. S/he will work closely with program and IT teams to integrate new systems with existing data systems for maximum cross validation and impact.
The Data Officer will lay the foundation for evidence-based programming and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and implementation of data collection tools and data flows to support public health programs.
- Design and implementation of data reporting to support various levels of supervisors and managers in monitoring progress and improving program outcomes
- To play a key role in taking forward AKHS, P’s vision of shifting reporting from manual to autonomous reporting
- Support key app developments for on field data collection for core AKHS, P programs and other projects
- To set clear objectives and targets for data teams in the field to ensure that accurate data is collected and reported regularly
- To set in place processes for accountability of regional/field teams in supporting data collection and management.
- To ensure high quality, timely, and impact-oriented reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- To establish teamwork with other departments within the organization to ensure that program/project targets can be met jointly
- To establish key research components within each project to develop a culture of learning and translate knowledge gained into evidence-based programming
- To develop mechanisms for excellent data collection, management, and analysis to support research, innovation, and learning
Education, Experience & Competencies
A dynamic, dedicated, and hard-working individual with the ability to innovate and problem solve. Strengths in building relationships and working in teams to deliver consistently. Strong skills in data collection, cleaning, validation, analysis, and reporting including the use of key programs such as MS Excel, SPSS, SQL, R programming, ArcGIS and knowledge of data visualization tools Power BI.
§ Masters in Statistics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field
- Regular travel to AKHS, P program sites of relevance (including Interior Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Chitral)
- Excellent data management and analytical skills
- 1-2 years of experience especially in developing systems for data collection, design of data tools, data visualizations, and management + analysis of data
