Job Summary:
The Unit Head Research is responsible for conducting research on assigned industries / sectors of economy based on internal concentration of bank’s credit portfolio. The candidate will typically be responsible for the research and collection of information, analysis of that information within given framework and presentation of findings/results to the senior management.
Major Duties & Responsibilities to perform the Role:
Unit Head Research is responsible for:
- Collection of industry data through research. Information sources include company financial reports, trade journals, periodicals, books, databases, industry experts, third party research, news and wire services etc.
- Interpret and convert complex data into understandable forms and formulate reports. Organize, store and document support data and research.
- Conducting industry analysis of various sectors of the economy to gauge the relative positioning of the bank’s clients (SME / Corporate), peer analysis and devise the bank’s internal strategy for that respective industry.
- Regularly updating the published sectoral research considering change in industry dynamics / macro-economic fundamentals.
- Equity research for bank portfolio and potential investments.
- Coordinate, generate and maintain research reports, presentations and databases.
- Provide research support to CRO, Head Credit Review and others as and when required.
- Publish periodic and concise forms as economic updates, market trends, forecasts etc.
- Any other tasks assigned as special projects or assistance as and when required.
Relevant Experience: 06 Years of banking experience (Research related, banking would be given additional consideration)
Qualification: University degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance or equivalent.
Other Qualifications: MS Office, Stata, SQL, Python etc.
