The Offshore Accountants is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Associate to join our finance team. This role focuses on managing various accounting functions including financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliation. The ideal candidate holds a BSc in Accounting & Finance or an equivalent qualification, has a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and the accounting cycle, and can expertly handle multiple client workstreams with precision and timeliness. This position requires strong communication skills to maintain professional correspondence with international clients and the ability to work independently without direct supervision. The Accounts Associate plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of The Offshore Accountants by utilizing accounting software and advanced spreadsheet skills to ensure accurate data entry and reporting. Attention to detail is paramount as this individual will be responsible for reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements while adhering to deadlines. Although this position does not include team management responsibilities, the ability to work collaboratively within the wider team environment and uphold quality standards is essential.
Responsibilities

  • Maintain and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all financial records are complete and accurate.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and statements in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Utilize accounting software and spreadsheet tools to enter, update, and manage financial data and client records.
  • Monitor and manage multiple client accounts and financial workstreams to meet deadlines without requiring prompting.
  • Apply a strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles to maintain accurate and balanced accounts.
  • Correspond professionally with international clients via written and spoken English to resolve financial inquiries and communicate account details.
  • Collaborate with other finance team members to support audits, internal controls, and improvement of accounting processes.
  • Identify discrepancies and anomalies in financial data, investigating and resolving issues promptly.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of accounting standards, software tools, and industry best practices to enhance job performance.
