- As a PHP/Laravel Back End Developer you will be an important member of our core development team responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating our platforms and website, APIs, and support our app developers.
- You will also help shape our infrastructure, internal build tools, processes, and techniques.
- As a member of the team, you will work closely with the CEO, project leaders, designers, UX, content team to unite great ideas with great execution for the benefit of our users.
- You are expected to be a self-starter, share your ideas, and work hard.
Duties
- Develop applications using modern available Laravel solutions
- Collaborate with Frontend team to get the most of a task and make it clear and smooth
- Identify areas of improvement and implement appropriate changes in existing
code bases
- Educate and mentor team members in new or expanding skill sets and software
- Maintain technical standards, conventions, and best practices for the team to adhere to
- Application uptime and error monitoring, support and remediation

Experience/Requirements
- 5 years of professional web development experience, with a focus on PHP and relational database systems using MySQL, and Redis for caching/queuing.
- 4 years of experience in developing Laravel applications.
- Proficiency in the following; JavaScript (ES6 preferred), SCSS, HTML (Twig or Blade experience preferred but not required)
- Exhibit programming best practices and utilize established conventions (e.g. SOLID, DRY, Design Patterns, etc.)
- PHP Unit (preferred) or other unit-tests
- local development environment (e.g. Docker)
- dependency management (e.g. Composer, NPM/Yarn)
- source control (git) Must have
- asset compilation and packaging (e.g. webpack)
