LAB Assistant directly reports to Head IT/Manager/Campus HOD

BASIC FUNCTIONS

1. Management LAB Operations.

2. Installation OS & Software’s / System Support/ MM Setup

3. LAB Inventory / Equipment’s Repair & Maintenance / Systems Security

4. Technical Support to Teachers/Student in LAB.

5. Troubleshooting (Hardware, Software)

6. Event / Trainings Handling in LAB.

7. Systems General Service Plan / Pleasant Environment

8. Positive & Friendly Attitude  

9. Supporting Documentation

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

General

  • Lab operations and activities.
  • Instructs students and teachers in computer lab technology and software for the purpose of enhancing their understanding of lab operations and reinforcing academic concepts.
  • Maintains computer hardware and software applications inventory for the purpose of ensuring availability of equipment or instructional material (multimedia and system) in computer lab.
  • Monitor’s student activities while in computer lab for the purpose of maintaining a safe environment that is conducive to learning.
  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance of computer lab and classroom equipment (e.g. dusting, cleaning, virus scanning, creating/clearing Internet bookmarks, defragmenting, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition.
  • Prepares documentation (e.g. reports, instructions, memos, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions of hardware and/or software applications for the purpose of determining appropriate actions to maintain computer lab operations.
  • Responsible of the lab security and devices are proper secured by lock.
  • Maintain lab’s general cleaning/dusting on daily bases by janitorial staff.
  • Responsible and answerable for given tasks from higher management.
