Trainee / Semi Senior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled accounting professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with UK tax legislation. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and strong analytical abilities to support the company’s financial operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain financial records through bookkeeping using software such as Xero, QuickBooks, VT, Sage 50, and Excel.
- Analyze financial data employing different tools and techniques to provide insightful reports.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with FRS-105 and FRS-102, including all necessary disclosures.
- Calculate Corporation Tax in compliance with UK tax legislation.
- Draft letters and other correspondence documents as required for communication purposes.
- Submit financial statements and corporation tax returns to Companies House and HMRC accurately and on time.
- Prepare VAT returns following UK VAT regulations.
- Complete individual personal income tax returns in line with UK tax laws.
- Update monthly payroll using Sage 50 payroll software, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Required Qualifications

- ACCA Affiliate or Finalist, or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a reputable organization performing a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manage financial data effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient computer skills with a solid understanding of accounting and financial processes.
- Demonstrated ethical and professional behavior in all aspects of work.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working within a UK-based firm is highly desirable.
- Expertise in Xero, Sage 50, QuickBooks, and Excel will be considered an advantage.
