Trainee WordPress Developer

We are looking for a Trainee WordPress Developer to join one of our Research & Development teams. This role includes a 3 to 3.5-month training period aimed at building the skills necessary to develop enterprise-level applications. Upon successful completion, there is potential for full-time employment based on performance. The position is located at Contour Software’s offices in Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad and serves as an extension of the division’s R&D department.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress websites.
- Support the creation of responsive, user-friendly web pages using themes and page builders.
- Work with plugins, widgets, and perform basic theme customizations.
- Help debug issues, conduct routine site updates, and manage backups.
- Collaborate with designers and senior developers to implement new features and improvements.
- Ensure all development complies with WC3 standards and coding best practices.
- Apply mobile-first, responsive design principles to guarantee seamless functionality across devices.
- Implement front-end animations and interactive elements to enhance user experience.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to best development practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong learning abilities and follow instructions accurately.
- Maintain dependability and reliability as a team member.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of WordPress CMS architecture.
- Proficiency in converting PSD designs into high-quality, responsive HTML integrated into WordPress.
- Experience in developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress themes aligned with design specifications.
- Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and SEO best practices.
- Solid grasp of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Eagerness to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies.
- Good problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
