This role is focused on ensuring the effective implementation of teaching and learning by planning, developing, and directing all teacher education activities under the guidance of the Training Director. The position involves managing both directly overseen and partner projects to align with National Curriculum standards, developing training materials, and delivering training programs that cater to diverse learning styles. The incumbent will also monitor teaching quality in project schools, coordinate with curriculum teams, and contribute to research and capacity-building initiatives to continuously improve teacher development.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum and Material Development:
Review subject curriculum materials to ensure alignment with training content. Conduct needs analysis to identify gaps in teachers’ skills and develop relevant course content, including guidebooks, videos, and printable materials that meet job performance standards. Utilize knowledge of pedagogy and current educational theories to design training courses, teaching-learning materials (TLMs), and assessment tools. Develop training materials for both blended and face-to-face learning modes, and strengthen content through field testing. Create training resources for new projects and partners.

Training Implementation:
Plan and execute training sessions using multiple strategies tailored to different learning styles and ability levels identified in needs assessments. Develop an annual training operating plan and budget. Use various assessment and follow-up methods before, during, and after training to monitor learner progress. Pilot new modules to identify gaps and ensure training plans are implemented as scheduled. Deliver training for new projects and partners.

Monitoring and Support:
Apply performance-based assessment principles to track learner progress. Conduct school visits to assess teaching quality and ensure intervention implementation. Observe training sessions and conduct classroom support visits (CSVs) to verify on-ground execution. Maintain up-to-date data in EMIS and other databases to identify ongoing training and support needs.

Communication and Coordination:
Collaborate regularly with curriculum teams to review and align guides, manuals, and training tools. Facilitate effective communication between trainers, projects, and staff to encourage cross-functional coordination and problem-solving. Establish systems to resolve issues promptly and adjust plans as necessary. Prioritize and ensure achievement of teacher development objectives. Submit quarterly progress reports on activities for DIL and partner projects.

Research and Development:
Stay informed on new teaching techniques, strategies, and international best practices. Keep training materials aligned with the latest government policies and decisions.

Capacity Building:
Participate in continuous professional development (CPD) activities, including in-house and external training sessions. Engage in research projects to enhance analytical skills.

Required Qualifications

Education:
Master’s Degree in Education or a specific subject from a recognized university.

Certification:
Certificate in teacher training or equivalent qualification.

Experience:
2 to 3 years of relevant experience in the education or development sector.

Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities for developing long- and short-term plans. Ability to work independently, multitask, and handle challenging situations. Leadership skills to mentor peers and trainers effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster trust, transparency, and teamwork. Competence in needs assessment, training plan development, curriculum design, and documentation. Experience in budget preparation and management. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and ability to use technology to support distance learning.
